Photo Archive

Explore rare and unique photos from the Yangju Baby Home and Dongducheon City in the 1960s and 1970s

The majority of the photo archive collection originates from two sources.

Former U.S. helicopter pilot Larne Gabriel, who, in the fall of 1969, was assigned to “A” Company, 7th Aviation Battalion, 7th Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Dongducheon, South Korea.

Larne Gabriel not only documented the Yangju Baby Home through photography but also became acquainted with the Kwak family.

The other source is Amy Ulrich’s adoptive mother; Mattie Ulrich, who documented her visit to the Yangju Baby Home in 1974. Amy herself is an adoptee from the Yangju Baby Home.
