Pictures from YangJu Baby Home, Dongducheon Korea

The main collection of the photo archive originates from former U.S. helicopter pilot Larne Gabriel, who, in the fall of 1969, was assigned to “A” Company, 7th Aviation Battalion, 7th Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Dongducheon, South Korea.

Larne Gabriel not only documented the Yangju Baby Home through photography but also became acquainted with the Kwak family.

The other collection originates from Amy Ulrich’s adoptive mother, who documented her visit to the Yangju Baby Home in 1974. Amy herself is an adoptee from the Yangju Baby Home.
